Description - Large yellow centred blooms some single and some multiple branching - both single & double (up to 15cm in size)
Seed - Open pollinated, a non-hybrid type of seed that can reproduce itself producing similar plant and flowers to parent type.
If collecting the seed if pollinated by similar type the plant should reproduce true to type.
Method - Sow direct sow or raise seedlings - 5mm deep -
Raise seedlings and plant out or Broadcast sow directly onto soil and push firmly in before sprinkling a thin layer of soil over the top.
When to sow - Spring to Summer - warmer climates
Spacing - As close as desired
Position - Full sun to partial shade
Germination - 12 to 21 days prefers temperatures of 21 to 30 degrees
Bloom - Flowers produced 55 to 100 days
Seeds - Approximately 50 seeds

Sunflowers are great height interest plants that can be used at the back of a bed for interest. They can also provide great wind and shelter for other plants within a garden bed.
Note - This variety produces a beautiful medium/large sized sunflower head yellow head, excellent for attracting insects & birds and adding some cheer to your garden.
Sunflowers are one of the most happy and recognisable flowers around.
They produce huge yellow blooms that are made up of thousands of tiny flowers bunched together – sunflowers are abundant pollen and nectar for visiting bees. Sunflowers are easy to grow from seed, and bloom throughout summer and into autumn.
If you wish to continually harvest across the season you can sequence sow to spread out the blooming period.
Use a high phosphorus flower food at the beginning of bloom season, once seedlings have established root systems.
Harvesting of the sunflower seeds can be done by awaiting the flowering period where the bloom fades and browns the seeds are contained in the head of the flower. Picking can be done after the back of the sunflower head browns. Dry the flowers in a warm dry area then remove the seeds once dried. Store in a dry container. Planting can then be done in the next season. A head of a sunflower can contain many hundreds of sunflower seeds that an be used.
Flowers if cut for vase will need daily water changed to ensure long vase life.
