Height - approximately in the range of 50-60cm
Description - Gomphrena Strawberry Fields - Globe Amaranth. Flowers profusely over a long period. Excellent for cut flower arrangements. Attracts butterflies into your garden. Great filler and interest flower within bouquets or flower arrangements.
Seed - Open pollinated, a non-hybrid type of seed that can reproduce itself producing similar plant and flowers to parent type.
If collecting the seed if pollinated by similar type the plant should reproduce true to type.
Method - Sow direct sow or raise seedlings - 5mm deep - Sow early Spring to early Summer 5mm (1/4”) deep in seed trays or direct into flowering position after danger of frost has passed. Transplant into the final growing position in full sun or part shade when approximately 5cm (2”) tall.
When to sow - Spring to Summer - warmer climates
Spacing - 50 cm
Position - Full sun to partial shade
Germination - 14 to 21 days prefers temperatures of 21 to 30 degrees
Bloom - Flowers produced 80 to 85 days
Bloom Size - 3cm approx
Seeds - Approximately 50 seeds

Gomphrena is Drought tolerant once established.
Note - Compact clump forming mid-green foliage with an abundance of long lasting vivid red pom-pom style flowers throughout summer and into autumn. Great for beds, borders, mass planting, and pots. Fantastic for dried and cut flower use. Great for attracting bees, butterflies and beneficial insects to the garden. Drought tolerant and low maintenance once established.
Flowers if cut for vase will need daily water changed to ensure long vase life.
Our flowers are grown on our farm and are chemical free and grown with love and care.
